Vichy, France

In the country of France you will be able to find the town of Vichy. This town is located in the north-east of the Clermont Ferrand district. It is considered to be the second largest town in the Auvergne region. As you look at this town you will see there are many attractive buildings and interesting sights you can investigate. The main attraction that Vichy has for a number of visitors to its borders is that of the spa waters that can be found here. Besides rejuvenating your body you will find there are other pastimes that you can see about doing while you are here in Vichy. These will include visiting interesting places like the Parc des Sources. Here in this park you will find lots of green spaces where you can sit back and relax after a bout of sightseeing.

Here you will also be able to listen to live music being played by the marvelous Vichy band. From this bandstand you will be able to listen to delightful afternoon concerts. Once you have listened to this live band music you may want to head to the north of the park. Here you will find the Le Palais. This is an iron framed greenhouse which is a focal point of the park for a great many visitors. Here in this greenhouse you will see various people sitting in total relaxation and reading or talking with friends or just soaking up the peaceful atmosphere which can be felt in this greenhouse.

As you relax here you will be able to see a number of people drinking waters of Vichy. You will be able to find these spring waters in bottled form as well as from bronze taps which have been beautifully wrought. These bronze taps are called Célestin and the best place you will find to see these taps is on the Boulevard du President Kennedy. Once you have drunk your fill of the Vichy spring waters you are ready to explore some of the other sights you will be able to find here.

Lovers of shopping will have lots of places to look at and even see great places where you can buy gifts and souvenirs for those loved ones back home. One interesting shopping center that you will find was previously a thermal spa establishment. In 1900 the Old Thermal Establishment was built in the heart of Vichy. As the desire for thermal and spa treatments here declined the thermal establishment was closed and in its place a shopping mall was born.

Besides looking at various shops you will find that Vichy has a number of fine restaurants where you will be able to savor the local fare of this town in addition to French cuisine that you are more familiar with.
