Augsburg, Germany
Augsburg that is in Germany is a city in the south west part of Bavaria, and is considered a college town. It is both the homes of the Regierungsbezirk Schwaben and Bezirk Schwaben, and is an urban district.
Augsburg is the third largest city in Bavaria and has about 270,000 citizens, and the second oldest city of Germany.
Augsburg also boasts having a holiday that is unique to it and is legal, which other cities and regions don't have.
If you are visiting Augsburg with your family and friends, or if you are interested in touring the city and taking a vacation in it, you have a lot to see. You can visit the historical town hall in Augsburg which is styled in a Renaissance design, and was built way back in 1620, but there's an even older building in Augsburg - the Perlachturm, which is the bell tower and was built around the year 1182.
You can also visit the administrative seat of Swabia which is set in a building that was built around 1750 and served as a residence for the bishop.
You can reach Augsburg by using the main road - the autobahn A 8 which links Augsburg with Munich and Stuttgart which means you can visit if you want to tour or vacation in several places during your holiday.
To move around the city, you can use the public transport that the city offers, which is controlled by the Augsburger Verkehrsverbund which is the Augsburg transport union (also known as AVV).
There are also seven railways as well as four tram lines and twenty seven bus lines.
There is also a night bus for people that want to return to their home or hotel after a night of partying - you can choose between six different night bus lines.
Two more tram lines are currently being built and will be completed (hopefully) within about 3 years.
If you are interested in the city's educational services, there is the University of Augsburg which was established during 1970, and the Fachhochschule Augsburg.
Augsburg also has a newspaper that started publishing way back in 1807 and still publishes to this day - the Augsburger Allgemeine.
Augsburg also boasts being the home and birth place to many famous people, past and present. Those people include the famous banker Jakob Fugger which lived around the 1400s to the 1500s, Hans Holbein the Elder which lived around the same time and was a pioneer in turning the art style in Germany from the Gothic style to the Renaissance style.
Augsburg also has annual attractions, like the annual children's party and festivities which take place in the 29 of September which is also called Michaelmas and is also known as St. Michael's Day. It is held at the Turamichele where each year a play is shown to the tourists and visitors, where the archangel Michael appears at a window of the city tower - in the western side - and fights the devil.
