In the country of Italy you will find the small island of Capri. This island is located about 5 kilometres from the mainland in the Bay of Naples. The island is considered to be part of Campania. You will also find that Capri has been a celebrated coastal resort since the days of the Roman Republic. Even today the natural beauty of this island captivates all those who come here. While the island is truly a paradise to spend a fantastic holiday you will find there are many other places and activities that you can do while you are in Capri.
These interesting attractions will include a visit to the Villa Jovis. The Villa Jovis used to be the residence of the Emperor Tiberius. You see the Villa and the scenic countryside if you start your journey from Piazzetta Umberto I and then turn into Via delle Botteghe. From here you will need to continue straight on through to Via Fuorlovado, Via Croce and then finally to Via Tiberio where you will be greeted by the Villa in all its splendour. Once you have finished visiting the villa, you may wish to spend some time seeing the other attractions in this locality. These will include the Church of Santa Maria del Soccorso, the Lighthouse Tower, and the Cave of Tiberius.
From the Villa Jovis you will enjoy visiting Anacapri. Here you will be able to see a number of interesting places which are well worth seeing. These will include St. Michael's Church. At this church you will see a magnificently tiled floor which depicts Adam and Eve. You will find the church in Anacapri’s town centre. On the other hand you may enjoy seeing the Villa San Michele. This villa was built in the 19th Century and it used to be the home of Axel Munthe, who was an interesting Capri inhabitant.
