You will find the city of Montecatini Terme located in the eastern end of Piana di Lucca in Italy. The name of this city is derived from two different words. The Monte part of the name means mountain and valley. The Terme part of the name means thermal waters. Speaking of these thermal waters you will find that Montecatini Terme is most famous for its thermal spas where you can go to rejuvenate your body from the stresses of day to day living.

The most famous of the city’s spas is that of the Tettuccio Terme. This spa can be found on the main street of Viale Verdi. This spa was built during the 18th century by the Grand Duke of Tuscany one Leopold of Habsburg. Two other spas which are as famous as the Tettuccio Treme are the Leopoldine and the Regina. These three spas made Montecatini Terme famous in its heyday.
