St Julian's, Malta
The resort of St. Julian’s is one of Malta’s largest and liveliest holiday resorts in the whole of Malta. Here in St. Julian’s you will be able to find the smaller bays of Spinola Bay and that of Balluta Bay. The quieter district of St George’s Bay and the new marina of Portmaso can also be found within the area of St. Julian’s.
Each of these bays can be considered to be quite picturesque. The resort of St. Julian’s can be found sprawled around St. Julian’s Bay by the north coast of Malta. The nearest neighbouring town is that of Sliema which is south of St. Julian’s resort.
While the resort as a whole is quite serene and inviting you will not find many attractions like landmarks, monuments or magnificent ruins. However you will find a resort which is quite modern and well equipped to make your holiday in St. Julian’s marvellous. To relax you will find the beaches at Balluta Bay and that of St George’s Bay to have excellent beaches and lidos. In addition to relaxing on the beach you will find you can visit the IMAX cinema where you will get to see some superb 3-D movies. To play a game of 10-pin bowling you may wish to visit the Eden Superbowl state of the art bowling centre which can be found in St George’s Bay.
It is also possible to go on cruise excursions where you can see the coast of St. Julian’s without any problems. The best place to find excellent boat hires would be in the town of Sliema as you will encounter several departing boat hire from this town. When you choose to see the coast of St. Julian’s by boat make sure that you also book a trip to visit the island of Comino. Another interesting place that you may wish to travel to is that of Valletta.
This tiny capital can be reached via a 10 minute ferry ride from Sliema. Valletta was built in the 16th Century and it is considered to be one of Malta’s and the Mediterranean’s architectural gems. As you walk through this small city do take the time to admire the golden hued sandstone streets and the well built city fortifications. In Valletta you should also see the Grand Master’s Palace as well as that of St John’s Co-Cathedral. These last two sights are must see additions to your trip to Valletta. You will find coming here is part of the charm which can be found in St. Julian’s as well as the rest of Malta.
And finally to have some fun you should think about visiting the Mediterraneo Marine Park and the Splash and Fun Water Park. At both of these places you will have lots of fund and your entire family will find lots of enjoyment going on the rides at the Splash & Fun Water Park or interacting with the seals and dolphins which can be seen at the Mediterraneo Marine Park.
While at first sight you may think that besides lounging along the beaches of St. Julian’s with nothing more to do than enjoy the sun, the surf and the sand you are in for just another seaside holiday then you can think again. While at first sight you may not see any interesting sights these hidden gems are just waiting for you to come and see when you explore St. Julian’s.
