Costa Teguise, Spain
With its beaches, sparkling nightlife and access to many islands, Costa Teguise attracts a lot of tourists. This coupled with the many different things you can do there, makes this a great spot for your holidays. Costa Teguise is found in the central part of the island and is one it’s main tourist resorts.
Costa Teguise is a purpose built resort and as such, some of the charm of the more natural resorts is missing from the place. Don’t be disheartened however, as construction of this resort town was very well managed and it is very rarely indeed that you will feel a true lack in this place. Indeed, many of the developments are under refurbishment meaning that you won’t have to worry about things crumbling to pieces beneath your very feet.
The fishing villages to the north of Costa Teguise, Arrieta and Orzola, are also good attractions for you to visit if you find you have the time, and if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a large tourist town
The island’s capital Teguise, is full of history and is a welcome change of environment to Costa Teguise itself as it is quiet and calm. If you want to explore Teguise, you are well advised to go there on a weekday, or even on a Saturday, as Sundays can be very challenging due to the thriving market held there every week.
The weather in Costa Teguise tends to be good and is uniform for almost the entire year. And although the beaches in Costa Teguise are windier than other resorts, it has an amazing bonus to it, in that it is possible to get in some really good windsurfing.
Windsurfing attracts both the local people as well as the tourists and if you find yourself giving in to temptation, you will find that everything you need for surfing is available on a hire basis. Provisions for windsurfing are available from experienced windsurfers to a beginner’s level of windsurfing.
With so many good beaches on Costa Teguise however, windsurfing is not all there is to be had, and there are many different activities you can do which are beach related (besides lounging around all day sunbathing).
People who enjoy boundless amounts of energy can enjoy cycling and other such sports if they so wish, leaving everyone else to enjoy the beaches and the surrounding bars and café’s. There is also one golf course available for those who want to get away from the beach and there are others being constructed.
There are also numerous shops available with different discount schemes throughout the year. One good thing when you come to Costa Teguise is that all budgets are catered for. International products are also available from the superstores around the resort.
Night life in Costa Teguise is well liked by just about everyone because of the low level of risks and noise. Restaurants are there to cater to the needs of the tourists till late night. These range in style from local foods to British, Chinese, and Indian foods as well as a number of foods from other countries.
Costa Teguise might not be a home away from home, and it might not be the perfect little spot to go exploring, but it is most definitely a place where you can relax and have a fun-filled few days and where you can leave behind the cares of this world – even if only for a short time.
