Morro del Jable, Spain
Morro Del Jable is located on the island of Fuerteventura off the coast of Spain. Once strictly a fishing village this town has grown into a popular tourist destination.
It’s all about the water and beaches at Morro Del Jable. You can enjoy the fun in the sun on one of its yellow sandy beaches. Families enjoy splashing in the water and stretching out on the beach to soak up the rays. The two miles of main beach have all the amenities you could hope for, with toilets, life guards, water sports and cafes.
You can also wander to Morro Del Jable Harbor. Here you can enjoy fishing and yachting. For those who are interested there are several different tour cruises you can enjoy. Some are designed for families, with entertainment aimed at children, such as pirate cruises. Some allow you to enjoy the oceanic wildlife found off the coast. Take a boat and see beautiful animals such as dolphins and whales.
Thanks to its location of Fuerteventura Island there are many things to do and see in neighboring towns. Take a car trip to the mountain village of Cofete. This village may seem a little out of the way but it’s worth the extra trip. Here you can enjoy not only a beautiful view but black sand beaches, rarely seen elsewhere. Enjoy walks along the beach, winds make it dangerous to swim, or hike in the mountains. The scenery alone makes it worth the trip out there.
When you are returning to Morro Del Jable from Cofete you will pass by the village of Puerto de la Curz. Stopping in this apparently deserted village can give you a unique experience. Not laced with tourist traps, here you can enjoy a nice meal at a café overlooking the grey sand and pebble beach. You can browse through the local shops.
Get back in your car and keep driving towards the western most part of the island to view the light house. The views from this historic masterpiece are spectacular. Sunset views are absolutely breathtaking.
Morro Del Jable is mainly about the sun and surf, but if you don’t mind a little exploration you can find some beautiful sites to enjoy during your stay.
