Malmö, Sweden

Malmo is the third most populated city in Sweden, and is located in the Scania province.
The Scania province is a geographical region on the edge of the peninsula. It borders with Halland, Blekinge, the Baltic sea and Smaland. Malmo is considered a bimunicipal local due to it being part of the Burlov municipality. The estimated population is about 628,388 people.

Malmo is one of three metropolitan areas in Sweden and it is spread across just under 2,536 square kilometres.
Malmo is known to be one of Scandinavia's earliest adopters of the industrial age.
Malmo boasts varied architectural designs and a hub for biotech and IT companies, despite struggling for a long time with reaching the post-industrial age.

Malmo offers an oceanic climate despite being in the north. That means a cooler summers and cool winters. It means they don't experience the extra dry summers that other regions in the area experience.
If you're worried about transportation to and from the city, or if you are interested in touring Malmo by yourself, you have several options.

Among the city's transportation - locally and globally, are the Oresundtrains. The Oresundtrains are also known as the Oresundstag or Oresundstog in Danish, are a regional rail system that operated in the Oresund area.
You can take them to Malmo, Copenhagen and up to the Copenhagen airport which means you can tour the surrounding area with it, and when you're done take the train to the airport and move to your next destination on the trip.

The Oresundtrains cross the Oresund bridge every 20 minutes - the Oresund bridge is a 2 track rail with an adjoining 4 lane road. It is used to connect the two metropolitan areas of Oresund and is considered the longest road and rail bridge in Europe.
You can use it to cross the border between Sweden and Denmark with ease.

If you're thinking of taking classes abroad and travel while you're there, you can use the eighth largest school of higher education that Malmo has to offer. It's a university college called Malmo Hogskola. It started operating back in 1998 and is the home of more than 21,000 students.
If you are interested in other types of learning, Malmo also has an art academy, a music academy, a theatre academy as well as a faculty for learning medicine.

If you are interested instead to enjoy the city's cultural centres, or if you are on a vacation with your family and you want to enjoy yourself, Malmo has a lot to offer.
Malmo became known in the debut film of Bo Widerberg who was a Swedish film director, film editor & writer and an actor.
He depicted Malmo in his 1963 release of Raven's End which is known locally as Kvarteret Korpen.

If you saw the movie and you want to visit that place, it was mainly shot in the Korpen district in Malmo which is more of a working-class location.
