Chicago is the largest city in the Illinois state and is a home to more than 2.8 million people making it the third-most densely populated city in the US.

Chicago was founded back in 1833 and became a transportation hub due to being located near major rivers and lakes, and nowadays it still lives up to its reputation by having the second busiest airport in the world - the O'Hare International Airport.

The city enjoys a humid continental type of climate making it easy to distinguish between each of the four seasons. While in Chicago you might want to enjoy some of the sights and tourist attractions the city has to offer, which include the Shedd Aquarium which is named after John G. Shedd and is a public indoor aquarium that opened back in 1930. In the aquarium you may observe over 25,000 fish (1,500 species) 5,000,000 US gallons.

You might also want to visit the 3,300 foot long Navy Pier which is on Chicago's shoreline in Lake Michigan in the Streetville neighborhood.

The pier was built way back in 1916 at a very costly sum - even in nowadays' standards, and was developed by Daniel Burnham. The ship serves both as a shipping handling area and as an entertainment centre to the general audience. It is used as a point of embarking of ships and also serves as a tourist and local attraction with its parade, animated fountain and big art sculptures.

You might also want to visit the first ever planetarium in the Western Hemisphere - the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, which is one of the oldest known to exist today. It was built back in 1930 by the person after whom the building is named - Max Adler - and was declared a national historic landmark in 1987.

The building offers full sized theatres which offers visitors the chance to see a representation of the night's sky.

Chicago also boasts a long list of famous people who are citizens in Chicago. Those include former Attorney General John Ashcroft, Rod Blagojevich who is a former congressman and governor of Illinois, Carter Harrison Sr and Jr who are both former mayors, Eddy Curry who is an NBA player, George Mikan who is an NBA Hall of Fame and Andy Hurley who is a drummer to Fall Out Boy, a very famous current band.

Chicago is a major tourist attraction and gets huge traffic every year - in the dozens of millions, partly due to famous museums and parks, and partly due to the historical Wrigley Field which is a baseball stadium where the famous Chicago Cubs play ever since 1916. The architect is Zachary Taylor Davis and the stadium cost a quarter of a million to build, and was once known as the Weeghman Park and the Cubs Park but just for short periods of time. The Cubs are a professional baseball team and is a part of the Central Division and the MLB - Major League Baseball.
